ElementsXXL Extends Photoshop Elements with 120 New Features

The Plugin Site (www.ThePluginSite.com) is pleased to announce ElementsXXL, which adds up to 120 powerful features to Photoshop Elements for Windows that were previously only available in Photoshop. These features are included as new menu items, icons, buttons, key shortcuts and dialogs, so they seamlessly integrate into the user interface of Photoshop Elements. ElementsXXL bridges a large part of the gap between Photoshop Elements and Photoshop and greatly enhances the image editing experience in Photoshop Elements.


Availability & System Requirements
ElementsXXL requires Adobe Photoshop Elements for Windows. A version for MacOS X is planned. ElementsXXL supports all localized versions of Photoshop Elements. A few messages and one dialog of ElementsXXL are only available in English and German language tough. ElementsXXL normally costs USD 49.95 (Academic/educational license: USD 29.95), but a special introduction price of USD 39.95 is available until April 15, 2013. Smithsonian Magazine 2012 Photography Contest: 50 Finalists

The Smithsonian magazine's 10th annual photo contest's 50 finalists have been chosen, but there's still time for you to vote for the Readers Choice winner! This year's competition has drawn over 37,600 entries from photographers in 112 countries around the world. Editors will choose a Grand Prize Winner and the winners in each of five categories which include The Natural World, Americana, People, Travel and Altered Images. Watch the Wonderful Mechanics of a DSLR Shutter in Super Slow Motion

There are incredible feats of engineering going completely unnoticed all around us. The way a high speed camera shutter works is one of them.
Luckily, the Phantom slow-mo cam—everyone's best friend—exists to show us just how awesome camera guts are at 1920 frames per second. We've seen similar on a Canon 60D, but what we have here is a Nikon D4 shooting photos at a rate of 10 frames per second. For each photo, the mirror flips up and the first curtain drops, exposing the image sensor for 1/200th of a second. Then, the second shutter drops to complete the exposure. Bravo.

Fujifilm gives more details on lens roadmap and XF 55-200mm telezoom

Fujifilm UK has given more details of the upcoming XF 55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS telephoto zoom for its X system cameras. Full specifications include an inner focusing system driven by no fewer than four linear stepper motors, and a promise of class-leading OIS with four to five stops correction, to go alongside the maximum aperture that's half a stop faster than typical SLR lenses covering the same range. The company says the lens will be available in May 2013. Meanwhile the promised XF 23mm F1.4 R and XF 27mm F2.8 R pancake are expected to appear in the middle of the year, and the XF 56mm F1.4 R and XF 10-24mm F4 R OIS at the end of 2013.
