Watch the Wonderful Mechanics of a DSLR Shutter in Super Slow Motion

There are incredible feats of engineering going completely unnoticed all around us. The way a high speed camera shutter works is one of them.
Luckily, the Phantom slow-mo cam—everyone's best friend—exists to show us just how awesome camera guts are at 1920 frames per second. We've seen similar on a Canon 60D, but what we have here is a Nikon D4 shooting photos at a rate of 10 frames per second. For each photo, the mirror flips up and the first curtain drops, exposing the image sensor for 1/200th of a second. Then, the second shutter drops to complete the exposure. Bravo.

Fujifilm gives more details on lens roadmap and XF 55-200mm telezoom

Fujifilm UK has given more details of the upcoming XF 55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS telephoto zoom for its X system cameras. Full specifications include an inner focusing system driven by no fewer than four linear stepper motors, and a promise of class-leading OIS with four to five stops correction, to go alongside the maximum aperture that's half a stop faster than typical SLR lenses covering the same range. The company says the lens will be available in May 2013. Meanwhile the promised XF 23mm F1.4 R and XF 27mm F2.8 R pancake are expected to appear in the middle of the year, and the XF 56mm F1.4 R and XF 10-24mm F4 R OIS at the end of 2013.

Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM features 35mm at focal length with maximum aperture of F/1.4. The lens construction has 11 elements in 9 groups and has diagonal angle of view at 63°. Focus adjustment: Rear focusing system with USM, Closest focusing distance at 0.3m/1 ft and has a filter size of 72mm. The Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM lens weighs 20.5 Ounces and it measures 3.1 inches in diameter and 3 inches long.

SLRGear reviews the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM and writes;
“Chromatic aberration is modest, geometric distortion is low, at only 0.26% barrel distortion, and even shading (more commonly called vignetting) isn’t too bad, at 0.44 EV, once again decreasing rapidly as you stop down, dropping to less than 1/10 EV from f/2.8 onward..”

Will the next smartphones measure in ultrapixels?
dpreview.com reviewed the HTC One X last year. The Taiwanese hardware maker is expected to announce groundbreaking mobile photography technology at its press event in New York City on February 19.

If early tech blog reports ring true, HTC's much-anticpated "M7" smartphone, expected to be revealed at press events to be held in New York City and London on February 19, may seriously be worth the excitement.
According to Pocket-lint, HTC will forgo a previously-speculated (and presumably conventional) 13-megapixel sensor for three, 4.3MP sensors to achieve a stacked "ultrapixel" sensor.
Although we don't know what this means  - sensors aren't transparent, so you can't simply 'stack' three on top of one another - it is just possible that HTC is planning on using a sensor similar to the Foveon  imagers used in Sigma's line of DSLRs and large-sensor compact cameras. While traditional Bayer sensors work by capturing information for just one color (red, green or blue) at each pixel location, and then interpolating that data to make true color, in a Foveon sensor, every pixel captures a true color because the red, green and blue filters are stacked above the light-gathering photodiodes.
